Microneedling
The microneedling process reaches skin below the surface. The procedure creates many microscopic punctures in the skin’s outer layers. This is sometimes called collagen induction therapy because the process stimulates the body’s production of collagen and elastin during the wound healing response. It is used to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores and stretch marks on the body. At Dermatology Partners we use SkinPen ™, the only FDA approved microneedling device.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a treatment that goes deeper than a facial to improve the look and texture of your skin. Rejuvenating the skin by removing the dull, damaged outer layer of skin. It stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen to help your skin look fresh. The procedure is safe and has little to no down time. The treatment is used primarily for wrinkle reduction, skin exfoliation, pigment correction, and can also help with unwanted shallow scars. Microdermabrasion also makes it easier for serums and skin care products to penetrate into the deeper layers of skin. It is most effective when done in a series with or without chemical peels.
